Preserving the Wisdom of the Land and Its People

The Mayan Library is an expanding digital archive dedicated to honoring and sharing the rich ecological, linguistic, medicinal, and spiritual heritage of the Mayan world. This project unites ancestral knowledge passed down through generations, especially from Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and native speakers, making it accessible to future generations in respectful, curated formats.

What Is the Mayan Library?

It is a multimedia repository—an evolving space that combines ancient oral traditions, ecological knowledge, natural medicine, stories, symbols, and languages of the Mayan civilization, rooted in a deep understanding of nature and its sacred cycles.

This Mayan library is more than just a collection of documents. It is about renewal. A living archive that celebrates the connection between land, language, lineage, and life. It reflects the bioregional knowledge of the Maya and recognizes the need to protect this heritage amid climate change, globalization, and cultural loss.

Why It Matters

Mayan knowledge systems are not fixed—they are evolving and vibrant, deeply tied to bioregional identities and planetary stewardship. This library aims to support cultural continuity, Indigenous resurgence, and planetary healing. It is developed with communities, for communities, and dedicated to the Earth.

We believe this work must be done ethically— with prior informed consent, respect for community rights, and an awareness that this knowledge belongs to the descendants of those who hold it.
